In the State of the Union Obama calls for an investment in science but history shows that politics and science don’t mix.
The problem is that when it comes to science the media does not do any critical analysis of science especially when it comes from the government. The government is not only funding agenda driven science but they are funding the lobbying efforts that drive them.
Sheriff David Clarke speaks on gun control
We can have the strictest laws on the book like Chicago, but if we don’t enforce them, like Chicago laws are just paper. When will we as a society learn criminals don’t follow the law. Gun free zones for example are an invitation to crime, not a deterrent.
Daniel Billings, 41, shot and killed his ex-girlfriend Annemarie Bautch, 39, on Monday and then turned the gun on himself. Billings had a long criminal history and should have been in prison, Clarke said in a news release late Thursday.
It seems somehow appropriate for the State of the Union address to fall on Fat Tuesday this year. Given the gluttony associated with this holiday and the history of Barack Obama, I have every expectation that we will hear no shortage of promises along that theme.
Those familiar with military strategy and the science of action and reaction will be familiar with the OODA Loop. OODA stands for Observe, Orient, Decide, Act. In a nutshell, we Observe what is happening, Orient to the situation, Decide what we what to do about it, then we take positive Action. We then repeat the process and again Observe what happened and continue in our ongoing decision-making.
Now that Barack Obama doesn’t have any future election that he has to worry about, expect a case of sensory overload. We should prepare for him to lay out a veritable feast of socialist policies; from climate change, to alternative energy policy, to furthering his anti-gun agenda, to the economy, we can expect he will propose the best way to make the worst happen to our nation. In case you missed it last night Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke Jr faced off against Piers Morgan and Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett. The topic at hand of course was the PSA that Sheriff Clarke telling citizens that personal safety is “no longer a spectator sport”. Contrary to what was toted out last night by Morgan, Clarke did not in any way tell everyone to go out and buy a gun and shoot up the city.
Morgan started out right away by calling Clarke’s ad contentious, before he even had a chance to defend himself. He then goes to Barrett who doesn’t seem to understand that Sheriff Clarke is the top cop in Milwaukee County and does have jurisdiction over the Milwaukee Police Department. The exchange continues back to Clarke and Morgan and this is where the MSM narrative begins to rear it’s typical ugly head.
Morgan goes back to insulting Clarke (along with talking over him), he states the ad is like a John Wayne movie. The insults don’t stop there, he asks about “theatrics” and wonders why Sheriff Clarke was using a deep, dramatic voice. Here is a little hint for you Piers, his voice is low, that wasn’t acting. But the insults don’t stop. He claims that the good Sheriff is trying to turn Milwaukee into the wild west. Obviously Piers knows nothing about Milwaukee and our violent crime per FBI crime stats, it’s like the wild west as it is. It has gone up from year to year, don’t we have the right to defend ourselves?
With upcoming furloughs and layoffs it IS our duty to protect our own families. There will be delays in officers arriving after a call to 911, contrary to what Mayor Barrett states. We don’t need to be victims. The second amendment is our inalienable right as dictated in our constitution and if an individual chooses to do so they can exercise that right. That is what Sheriff Clarke was saying. Mr. Morgan would have you believe that cowering in the corner like a scared animal will make it OK, that the bad guys won’t hurt you. An unarmed citizen is what criminals want because THEY DON’T FOLLOW THE LAW!
The progressive agenda the media is trying to cram down our throats would have you believe that tighter gun laws will save us all, but as I stated criminals don’t follow the law. They’re all for gun laws, then they have vulnerable victims. Look at what happened in the UK when they put a gun ban in place, violent crime skyrocketed. Look at Chicago, a city with some of the tightest gun laws in the nation. There were 500 people murdered last year, that is only murdered. It doesn’t take into account all the violent crime committed with an illegally purchased gun. Chicago leaves its residents vulnerable and the criminals take full advantage of that.
Don’t let people like Piers Morgan shut us down. We are better than that. Gun control isn’t a left vs right issue. This affects all of us. Stand up for your rights. Fight the agenda. Challenge those who try to cram gun control down your throat. Someday the safety of your family might depend on it.

A few days ago, soon after the Sandy Hook tragedy, health discussion was non-existent so “Pat” posted a few links to articles and blogs about gun control. I sat in the wings, reading and rolling my eyes to the ridiculous statistics and statements made by supposedly educated people. I finally couldn’t stay quiet any longer when some statistics were posted about how guns have only contributed to the violence in America and how people seemed to be killing one another off minute by minute (this was paraphrased from a New York Times article). I finally brought my Conservative, Tea Party views to the forefront. The group needed to know how their views did not make sense.I was hoping for a rational dialogue. As a father of 3 boys all under the age of 10 I truly do get it. I totally understand the initial desire of blaming the tool and not the tool’s handler. When I went to my oldest son’s school to pick him up I sat in my car waiting and looking at all the other parents waiting to pick up their most precious cargo as well and for a second I thought of a America free of guns and of gun violence. For me the moment was fast-fleeting and I immediately came back to reality. The reality is the bad guys have always and will always find a way to pull off their mischievous deeds. America does not need gun control, it need more guns in the hands of the right citizens.
The talking heads on the cable networks have been in non stop “gun control” mode since the slaughter at Sandy Hook Elementary. Even some conservative members of the House and Senate have opened the door to the possibility of an “assault weapon” ban. Not only is that talk unconstitutional, it is more importantly delusional. Shame on liberals for exploiting tragedy once again in our country and try to use tragedy as a reason to take our rights away. Liberals are shameful.
