What is the Tea Party and where is it going? At Tea Party Perspective, we think we have the answer. Andrew Britebart mobilized millions of us Tea Party followers, teaching us that everyone can be a citizen journalist. Groups like AFP, Tea Party Patriots and other 501c3’s have mobilized a base of millions of people that are ready to do something. The issue is, they don’t know what to do and they’re not being given any marching orders as it’s not election season anymore. AFP and Tea Party Patriots both failed to do a few things that Tea Party Perspective hopes to capitalize on – to educate and inform. The people Britebart mobilized have not been brought into the fold, Tea Party Perspective is going to make sure that happens. The 501c3’s have been so involved in quasi-politicizing that they have not really sought to inform their members about current event news. Tea Party Perspective is going after the citizen journalist that happens to believe in the Tea Party. There are so many news junkies that want their voice to be heard. Since the mainstream media won’t report what we consider news, we will. The Tea Party has been branded by the media and now it’s time we re-brand ourselves.
Who is the Tea Party? Is it someone who votes for Rick Santorum or Ron Paul in the primaries? Is it someone who believes marriage should be between a man and a woman or is it someone who asks why the government even cares to ask? We say each one of those people who know they are in the Tea Party, belong there. It’s something you can’t explain. We know Republicans have sold us out on a national level, we know there is something fundamentally wrong, and we know big government is the problem. We will not be a community that throws out those who disagree, we will embrace dissent from the popular voice so real news and real perspectives can bubble to the surface. Rather than the ‘top down’ approach to telling the news, we are going to present the ‘bottom up’ approach (sound familiar?).
Around 30 million people have small government Tea Party ideals, yet it seems no one is taking the time to talk to us, only about us. So why is nobody engaging a Tea Partier? Why is it impossible to get even a token story? Why can’t you find any events that follow Tea Party interests going on? That’s a good question. One Tea Party Perspective 2.0 will solve.
The Tea Party Perspective has been assembling everyday well informed activists into one place to talk to the people in the Tea Party. No longer will you have to hope that your event will be covered by someone somewhere because Tea Party Perspective is covers them: rallies, educational events and other activities from across the state. We are not just a hub of information, but also a place to find events for education or fun. Most importantly we are a place where you can meet other Tea Party members from all over the state.
We aim for people to be able to educate themselves. No longer do you have to wonder what people in the Tea Party think about issues of the day, you can go to TeaPartyPerspective.com to find out. News from your everyday well informed Tea Party member. How is the news chosen? By the individual contributor. No longer will you have to wonder if the newsroom editor will stop a story because there is none. We have seen that newsroom editors are nothing but people who censor speech or choose what is news in one way or another. By letting these trusted contributors exercise free speech, we ensure that nobody speaks for or controls the Tea Party but the people in the Tea Party.
