Dear fellow Conservatives, Libertarians, Constitutionalists, and other proud Americans, let’s be honest with ourselves for a moment and realize that we do not have a candidate for President that represents fully what we believe. It indeed sucks to have to hold our noses and vote for the lesser of 2 evils again this November, but this time the stakes are way too high not to. In 2008 many of us stayed home, many of us voted but did nothing else, and many of us even crossed over and voted for Hope and Change. Three and half years later the vast majority of us regret our decisions, but we are on the way to doing it once again.
We cannot approach this Presidential election in November the same way we did in 2008 or else we will lose. We need all hands on decks, that includes my many Libertarian friends and Ron Paul supporters. I totally understand that Romney is not your “guy”, but at least we can hold him accountable for any transgressions he will make upon our liberties. Just take one look at everything President Obama has taken from us already, imagine what he will do if we cannot hold him accountable at the ballot box.
We also must find a way to make this election about electing Mitt Romney and not just hating on President Obama. If Governor Walker’s landslide recall election victory proved anything, it proved that using hate as your prime motivator might provide good energy at protests, but in the end it is not enough to win. Walker won because the people who supported him did it proudly and proclaimed their pride to others. We must find a way to generate the same enthusiasm for Romney as we did for Walker or we will fail.
How do we generate this energy? We can start by looking at the positives of Mitt Romney. He is blessed with great business sense, what he did to save the Olympics was amazing and he turned almost every company he touched into a profit-making machine.
He also seems to be a true believer in America’s exceptionalism which would be a wonderful breath of fresh air given how much the current President attempts to dismiss our exceptionalism as vanity, when in fact it is not vanity, it is truth and virtue that sets America apart from the rest of the World.
More importantly than anything else, Mitt Romney seems to have a grasp on what the Constitution is and how it should be utilized. Even during his days as the Governor of Massachusetts, Romney always based his decisions on the Constitution. Even his biggest albatross on his back, Romney care, was based on the 10th Amendment and the rights of sovereign states. This alone make Mitt and much better choice than the man presiding in the Oval Office today.
We can save America from a second Obama term, but only if we buy into what Mitt Romney is selling. I understand wanting to make a point. I get not wanting to “settle”. I realize that many will see my argument as nothing more than GOP appeasement. Anybody who knows me knows I am no apologist. My approach is totally pragmatic and given the choices available a Romney Presidency looks to be a much better choice, especially given that we can hold him accountable again in 2016.

This is a great message to help people start rallying around the potential of a conservative Romney Presidency. Sharing on our page! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Mitt-Romney-TEA-Party-Supporters/174401882635203?ref=tn_tnmn
Thank you for sharing. I truly believe that Mitt Romney can be a very good President. This article is meant to convince those on the fence.
I whole heartedly agree with you Santo. We rarely ever get to vote for the perfect candidate. It’s like what we learned from the Rolling Stones, “You can’t always get what you want. But if you try sometimes you just might find you get what you need.”
